What happens next?
You have until Friday 19 July to nominate in as many categories as you wish, providing as much information as possible meeting the set criteria.
Our judges, made up of colleagues from a range of clinical and non-clinical roles, will be assessing the entries and choosing our winners. This year’s finalists will be announced in September with the 2024 mydentist Excellence Awards ceremony being held on Friday 18 October at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester.
Why should you nominate?
Only you know how great your colleagues are unless you shout about them, so don’t hold back and nominate in as many categories as you can. Whether it’s an exceptional Dentist, Receptionist, Therapist, Hygienist or a Support Centre colleague or team, we want to hear all about them!
Nominations are judged based on how much of the is covered. Finalists are not chosen based on the number of nominations they receive, so please remember this, and use the criteria to tell us as much information as you can to make each nomination count.
How to nominate
Make sure you have read the category criteria. Complete the nomination form for each nomination you wish to submit. Once you submit the nomination, you cannot amend it. If you plan to enter more than one nomination, you need to submit separate entries.

All nominations are currently going through a multi-step judging process.
Firstly, all nominations are reviewed to make sure that they meet the criteria for each category. If your nomination doesn’t meet all of the mandatory criteria points, it will not be put forward to the judging panel.
The judging panel is made up of 15 colleagues from within mydentist from a mix of clinical and non-clinical roles. Each category is split between multiple judges who read and score each nomination out of 10 depending on how well it meets the criteria. All judges return their scored nominations to the Communications team who collate all nominations within their categories.
The nominations are then passed to an external judging panel who carry out a quality check for all scores and do a final review of all nominations. This determines our finalists for each category.
All nominations are anonymous when they go to the judges to avoid any bias. They see the wording that you have submitted along with any supporting information such as case studies, but will not see the full name, area, region, practice or Support Centre team that they are part of. Nominations are judged on the wording alone.

When and where is the awards ceremony?
The 2024 awards ceremony will be held on Friday 18 October, at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester.
How can I book to attend the awards ceremony?
Attendance to the Excellence Awards is by invitation only. All finalists will be invited along with members of their regional support team or line manager. All finalists will also be given the opportunity to bring a guest to the event. Guests must be colleagues from within mydentist.
I am a finalist. What happens next?
All finalists will be contacted by email with the next steps. If you are a finalist and haven’t heard from us by Monday 16 September, please contact us at excellenceawards@mydentist.co.uk and we will get back to you.
I am a finalist. Can I bring a family member or friend outside of mydentist to the awards to celebrate with me?
All guests must be a colleague from within mydentist.
What is the dress code for the Excellence Awards?
This is your chance to get your glad rags on, whether that’s a tux, a full suit, a shirt and tie or a glitzy dress. This night is for you to feel special so wear what you feel comfortable in but remember, it’s a celebration so no trainers or sportswear.
